The IMVA™ works with any plate carrier and can be attached regardless of any auxiliary armor. The attachment itself is very light and compact and won’t be noticeable before it is needed.
The CO2 dispenser inside the IMVA™ can be activated with a single movement. Virtually instantly, it will fill out the vest with buoyant gas and prevent you and your plate carrier from sinking. The vest can be further inflated manually if you think that you need more buoyancy.
It is very easy to move with the IMVA™ on your vest. While deflated, it is only a couple of ounces heavy and completely flexible. Unless you need it, you will never even notice that it is there. But, if you ever do, it will be there in an instant.
